I think Bama would have won even if Colt had been in the whole game. However, it would have been a Hell of an exciting game.

Dang. Now I'm kinda wishing I had watched it.
Texas had momentum.
First drive of the game: Alabama.
-Mark Ingram rush for 0 yards
-5 yd false start
-McElroy sacked - loss of 8 yards
-McElroy incomplete pass.
That's 4th and 23. I don't remember exactly, but was there a fake punt / pass? Either way, the next play was an interception. That's -13 yards and a TO in the first two minutes of the game for Alabama.
Second drive of the game: Texas.
-McCoy pass complete for 5 yards
-McCoy pass complete for 4 yards
-1 yard rush - MTC
-16 yd rush - MTC
-McCoy goes down.
- in 1:07 Texas had 2 first downs, 26 yards of offense, 0 incomplete passes, and only one play for no gain - when Colt went down. They had the ball on the 'Bama 11.
Was the game in hand, or being dominated? No. Was the Bama offense lost and confused? Yes. Was their defense losing ground? Quickly. That, IMO, is having a team 'on it's heels'.
Oh yeah! I forgot. Not only did UT lose Colt the QB, but he was also gonna play LB and stop Bama's rushing attack. Someone tell Mark Ingram he wouldn't have hammered the out-classed Shorthorn defenders had Colt been in there. No sir!
Yeah....Bama...that went on to rush for 300+ yards and score 37 pts, even after going ultra-conservative in the 3rd qtr, was "on their heels." Only those heels were firmly smashing the necks of Texas as they grinded them into the ground.
Colt got hurt because that's what happens when little boys line up against real men. Bama not only crushed and embarrassed texas, they physically beat 'em up too.
S-E-C !
It is April.......4 months post NC.....and we are arguing the Texas VS BAMMer thing again!!! Damn, we are starved for some football!!!!!!!!
I always thought Saban was the best because he cheated the best...I mean recruited...sorry.:icon_wink:
