This is getting a bit ridiculous. Now about 60% of BCS (still Division I in my head) can possibly go to bowls?

Dont want to watch more football?
Turn it off.
The addition of more bowls is an attempt to finally put UL-X into a bowl game.
The more and more teams that can go bowling in a season, the less prestigious it becomes.
ESPN writers go with "ranked" instead of "pick". I really don't believe they know the difference.
What will happen to all these bowls when the realignment happens and some of the participants are pegged from conferences that no longer exist? The realignment of the bowls and TV contracts could make exciting times ahead.

Looks like it is time to create a 70th place ribbon for the loser of the 35th bowl game...
Dodge ball anyone?

Totally ridiculous. They have become just an extra game at the end of the season. No way does the 7th or 8th place team in a conference deserve to go bowling but the height of stupidity is allowing 6-6 teams to go bowling. Now if the idiots at the NCAA HQ came up with a way to use the bowl games in a playoff format, all of the games would have meaning.
Is the point of the bowl system really to reward the best teams? Has it ever been?
Bowl games are money makers. They exist to draw tourists and tv eyeballs. As long as you have conference tie-ins and teams get selected based more on the size of their fan bases than on the field results, the bowls are just exhibition games.
As for me, I like to watch college football on tv. So I'll take all the bowl games they want to give me.
