Wow! This sounds very interesting! The posibilities are limited only by imaginiation.
that's brilliant. i wonder if they've built a prototype.
I'm most impressed by the various media outlets that are picking up this story at least on the Web. Some are academic but some are closer to a mainstream web mag where more people may see it because they are casually looking for things on the web.
It was actually featured on CNN. Pretty damn cool.

If they could figure out a way to build these into auto and truck tires, in the future your car may be powered by your wheels turning over. Pretty cool technology.
I would get one of these in a second once it has a little more power. I could charge my iPod, cell phone, and even laptop with more power. No more laptop running out of battery during a meeting and trying to find a plug. That would be my practical uses for it.
I see the long term HUGE possibilities it could generate, though.
Jordan Mills on choosing Tech:
“It’s a great experience seeing them play. It was a good atmosphere. The fans stood up the whole game and never sat down. They have a great fan base.”
The CNN segment I saw showed him in the CNN Los Angeles studio. Hope it didn't confuse to many folks seeing LATECH on the shoe, thinking it was Los Angeles Tech. At least under his name it had "Louisiana Tech University" for a few seconds.

You darn Chemical Engineers and your laws. Bunch of killjoys.
On a relatedish note, last night on the news here they were talking about a man who tried to blow up his ex-wife with a home-made bomb (it didn't work and they caught him).
Me: See, that is why you never want to divorce a ChemE.
Wife: Oh, was he an engineer?
Me: Obviously not. It would have worked.
Wife: With your grades, I'd probably be ok.
Me: I'd have Bob help.
