Just a question...This team has improved its record every year. Every year, folks always have a "yeah, but" statement about the improvement.
My question is, how many do we need to win for Rupp's detractors to let him off their hot seat?

Make the post season
He'll never win me over...don't like the hire or the recruiting
I'm already on board.

I really think he has to have a .500 or better season overall and avoid double digits in the loss column in conference to be given a slight reprieve...
If he can win 15 to 17 games next year overall and 7 or 8 conference games that will be a good year in my book and a better coaching job than this year's 24 win season

Sorry Inudesu...I thought I made it public, but apparently I messed it up. Oh well, probably more honest voting this way...

6 - 15 - 24 - ?
What's next?
I don't have high expectations this year- but I am hopeful. If he pulls the rabbit out of the hat and has a good season that will be wonderful. That said, to me it is more about building a program, and sometimes wins or losses don't tell the true picture of the state of the program. I hope at this time next year we all have expectations of a great year.
The WAC will be much weaker next season. It's not just Tech. It's everybody except for Utah State...
Nevada is losing 5 of their top 6 scorers. Luke Babbit (21.9 ppg) and Armon Johnson (15.7 ppg) are both entering the draft early, and Brandon Fields (14.5 ppg), Joey Shaw (10.4 ppg), and Ray Kraemer (6.1 ppg) are all graduating. That's 68.6 points per game!!!!
Idaho is losing 5 of their top 6 scorers to graduation: Mac Hopson (14.4 ppg), Kashif Watson (10.7 ppg), Steffan Johnson (9.9 ppg), and Marvin Jefferson (9.2 ppg), and Luciano de Souza (6.9 ppg). That's 51.1 points per game!!!
Hawaii is losing their top scorer Roderick Flemings (16.6 ppg) to graduation along with Brandon Adams (8.0 ppg), Petras Balocka (7.9 ppg), Adhar Mayen (7.2 ppg), and Paul Campbell (4.8 ppg). That's 44.5 points per game!!
New Mexico State is losing their top 2 scorers. Jahmar Young (20.3 ppg) is entering the draft, and Jonathan Gibson (17.5 ppg) is graduating. That's 37.8 points per game!!
Fresno State is losing their top 2 scorers. Paul George (16.8 ppg) is entering the draft early, and they lose Sylvester Seay (14.2 ppg) to graduation. That's 31 points per game!
San Jose State is returning next year' WAC POY Adrien Oliver, but he is losing his supporting cast to graduation: Robert Owens (10.5 ppg), Chris Oakes (10.3 ppg), and Mac Peterson (9.9 ppg). That's 30.7 points per game!
Boise State is losing their top scorer Ike Okoye (12.9 ppg), Kurt Cunningham (7.7 ppg), and Anthony Thomas (7.6 ppg) to graduation. That's 28.2 points per game!
Utah State only loses Jared Quayle (12.4 ppg) to graduation.......
I voted 15, but I will say that I am already on board. I'm not a basketball guy, but I appreciate the way Rupp handles himself and his team. I know local coaches get miffed about it, but I think he runs his team the right way. 15 wins will take good coaching and a real surge by guys like Olu, but I think its doable.
Rupp and Condie are class acts and I think they'll prove their coaching chops this year.

I we have to wait until our OOC schedule is released to answer the question though.
I say he has to win at least 6 conference games though.
Those who know me, know I'm not a bottom line guy when it comes to athletics. Wins and losses are part of the equation, but they rarely tell the whole story. It is true in the good years and the bad. I agree with Dwayne that 24 wins last year hid a lot of truth as did the bowl season with Dooley. Wooldridge's first year was an amazing year, but the wins and losses did not necessarily show it. John Wooden may have been fired in the 1958-61 years at UCLA under today's bottom line thinking.
What I guess I'm saying is that I'm not looking for any set number of wins and losses. I love his ability to teach and coach a game. To me, that is not debatable. I want to see how he handles this year after loosing NJ. To tell you the truth, now that I realize how much of a turd NJ is, we may find that that was the biggest part of the problem. You ride with the bad, you hang with the bad. Let's see if he rides with some people with better character.
I voted for make the post season but only because I didn't understand the question to mean next year. I think if he doesn't get there within the next 3, he should be gone.
