Only at borders. I don't remember the court case, but there is one that clearly describes that scenario. There is a case (split decision) that determined roadblocks were constitutional, Rehnquist said that since the roadblocks were effective and necessary for preventing drunk driving, it was acceptable to violate a fundamental Constitutional right. I disagree with that decision as well.

If the state law mirrors the federal law exactly, then the federal law should be challenged as well.

This is how I believe it differs. It says that officers are required to arrest any individual for which there is a "reasonable suspicion" they are in the country illegally. I am adamantly opposed to that wording and doubt it is used in the federal law. If that wording is in the federal law, I would be equally opposed to it.

It's not just for drunk driving. They do it for insurance/registration/license/seatbelts.

Right. The exemption was basically created for any transportation laws which could be effectively prevented using roadblocks. The court case that established that exemption was about drunk driving.

    12
OF THE MOTOR VEHICLE AND TO BE TRANSPORTED TO WORK AT A DIFFERENT LOCATION IF

    13
THE MOTOR VEHICLE BLOCKS OR IMPEDES THE NORMAL MOVEMENT OF TRAFFIC.

    C. IT IS UNLAWFUL FOR A PERSON WHO IS UNLAWFULLY PRESENT IN THE UNITED

That appears to be how they will mainly catch them. Hang out at the popular "line up for work" spots where locals come to pick up illegals for day labor. Since it's illegal to impede traffic, they can then check the status of all of them.

The law also makes it illegal to knowingly employe illegals. This is not as simple of a bill at it first appears.

They can't do that. Has to part of another violation or crime.

This is true. I could possibly be supporting this bill in a week if I get time to read more about it.

That was the exact wording used by most media outlets... Even Fox.

Is that from the AZ law?

If your natural born here, you would have a birth certificate. If I knew the law was in place and I was a citizen, I would get an ID.
