"We couldn’t find anybody that would play us in Arkansas. We called Louisiana and they’re on a different year. All their schedules are set for this year. We even called into Tennessee and Texas," said Reed.
"We actually thought we were going to go to Dallas and play in a game on ESPN. Us and (Springdale) Har Ber were both going to go on a Friday and Saturday and play. That would’ve been a good deal for us but we didn’t get everything finalized and Har Ber wasn’t really sure about it.
We had a back-up plan with Har Ber that if we didn’t get the deal in Dallas on TV that we would play each other. The drawback with us is they share a stadium with Springdale and this is the year they have a home game on week two. To accommodate them, we’re going up there. They’re coming here next year. We’ll have four home games this fall and six the next. I don’t like that but there’s nothing we can do about it."
North Little Rock dropped El Dorado off their schedule. Then Little Rock Catholic agreed to play but recently got out of the verbal agreement leaving an open week 2 slot. El Dorado ended picking up Springdale Har Ber. 7A NLR and Catholic are too scared to play the Wildcats at their house.
El Dorado returns a star QB (Taylor Reed). He is currently getting looks from Arkansas and Ole Miss. Rivals list him as a dual-threat QB.
