Poor Boise. If the academic side of their house didn't fall somewhere between ULM and Southern, they'd be in serious consideration for something big. W's are there, market is there, fanbase (though at "only" 35k, not THAT big) is there....just a shame the Stanfords, Cals, and even Utahs and BYUs of the world would never, ever, ever have absolutely anything to ever, EVER do with them.
They should offer a PhD in truck driving.
Another good article:

This article kinda sucks, in my opinion. Dude just regurgitates everything everyone is thinking, and doesn't even specifically name any teams.
Pac 10 would add, what, KU/KSU, ISU, Baylor, TTech, Colorado, and Utah in this scenario? Can't see Baylor or ISU digging that (though it beats any non-AQ league they may end up in)
The BCS doesn't expire until 2014 so it seems silly to make moves now. If you calculate in it taking schools 2 years to move conferences, they have 2 years still with the BCS still in place. I really think the super conferences are coming...just not now. I bet the BCS extends again until about 2018 or 2020 and you see a few conferences start the transition now by expanding to 14. This gives them a little bit more time to plan which teams they want to be associated with in their super conferences.
Edit- Nevermind. I just realized the contract is extended through January 2014. Not the 2014 season.

Sunbelt will be around longer than the WAC...unfortunately
Lets assume we get 4 16-team super conferences, and the Big XII is dissolved. With the teams that are left -- (yeah, DFM style hyphens, WHATS UP)
Best case scenario for Louisiana Tech:
Creation of the Mid South Academic Bad Asses Conference (MSABAC)
SMU and TCU
Tulsa and North Texas
Houston and Rice
UTEP and NMSU
Louisiana Tech and Louisiana-Lafayette-Acadiana-South Louisiana-Earth
Tulane and Southern Miss
Ohio and Miami (OH)
Western Kentucky and MTSU
Lots of contradictions here, however. TCU doesn't want to be in a conf with SMU. SMU doesn't want to be in a conf. with North Texas. Tech has a superiority complex with ULL but would love this otherwise. Ohio and Miami don't fit the footprint but would kill to be with fellow Tier 1 schools like this. WKU and MTSU are academic weak links here, but I assume Memphis and UCF go Big East/ACC. New Mexico goes B12/P10. Houston, TCU are candidates to be plucked by AQ's.
Worst case scenario is the Belt.
Most likely scenario is probably something in between.

A buddy sent me this link on a K-State article yesterday:

Yep.....I bet it is tougher to get into the LA Works program than it is to get into Boise State.
Boise's academics will not allow the athletic department to go where it wants to be.
LORD! How many more days til fall camp?
