Go dawgs! Let's see if we can keep them under ten runs this game though!

I hate to look at the down side, but we gave up 12 runs to the worst hitting team in the conference. Add that to the the 10 we gave up last night and even our "frontline" pitchers are struggling mightily right now.

    So I learned something today.

The JC Love scoreboard won't show a double-digit run total for a single inning. It just flashes the first digit followed by the second.

It was definitely a good experience.

Tech set two team records in the first game today. The first was the number of hits in a game at 27. The second record was the number of doubles in a game. Tech had 8 doubles in the first game today. The season record for doubles was set in 1999 (IIRC) and had the team had 110 doubles halfway through the first game. We then added 4 more doubles in the second game so we are right at knocking on the door to tie and then eclipse the team season record. Very well could happen tomorrow.

Thankfully, Jefferson stepped up and threw a gem in the 2nd game today. Gonna be very thin tomorrow though.

The Dawgs broke THREE records today... They MONKEY STOMPED the single-game total bases record!
    http://www.latechsports.com/sports/m...050810aaa.html

LA Tech's batters churned out 27 runs off of a school record 27 hits, eight of which were doubles which is also a school record. To go along with the eight doubles, the Bulldogs added five homeruns and 14 singles for 60 total bases in the game to shatter the previous school record of 40 in a game set in 1997. Probably the most impressive note about these records is that they were achieved in just a seven inning game.

Damn, if we had any coaches there's no telling what we could have done.

For us, it was 18 outs. It was an amazing offensive output in the 6 innings we batted.
