Hopefully this will continue to lead - Like TB mentioned in his interview - to more high school players signing with LaTech right out, rather than attending a larger school, and have a becoming a backup.

If the OSU kid is here already, then great. Love to have him on the team.
I'm not trying to downplay the importance of punting, I just don't think it will play as big of a role as it did with DD. Punting was an integral part of his overall gameplan. DD wanted to chew up the clock and play an NFL-ish, ball-control O. Obviously, it back-fired several times last year and put a ton of pressure on our D. Whereas SD's going to air it out and will more than likely convert a bunch of these 4th downs. I'm telling you right now, if our offense starts to click like I think it will there won't be as much punting to worry about. JMO.

Yep. I used to gawk at it in blockbuster. I dared JFord to rent it a couple of times, but he never took the bait.
And on the punter, the kid was having problems with OSU. The coaching staff apparently had him listed as punting in a game, which would mean he would have to sit out here.
If he's on campus, then I'm sure he's on the team. I just wonder weather or not he'll have to sit out a year.

Sorry for the off the subject statement, but if we can talk about beavers with teeth chewing wood I can relate this message. When I talk to BVD yesterday I asked him about tv games and he told me that ESPN wanted to show our game against USM on a Wed but USM wouldn't agree to it so it stayed on Sat. i thought that was interesting news. At least ESPN wanted to show one of our games in prime time.
I guess I can see why USM wouldn't want that to happen though...if we were playing there I would rather it be on a weekend so i could go
Agreed...the next thing though will be to ensure that as many current Tech students attend and not go home on the weekend!
