My guess its that the other three candidates aren't currently a president at their universities. ULM must be feeling very proud, their President is applying for the same job at Missouri State.

I know Cofer......and he is a cool guy even though he is an academic type person. He knows the problems that face NELA and he seems to really care about the community.

no...he is cool......athletics are the last thing on his mind though. He is much more outgoing and friendly than leaders at other universities in this state. He takes time to be involved with the community - he has given some eye opening presentations about the state of our high schools in NELA.....pretty sad actually.

His wife is a nice, friendly person as well.....had a chance to meet their two children and they are as good as kids (adults now) that one could hope for.

Remember, he stepped into a major mess here in Monroe...some UL-m folks say he made it worse.....I do not believe they remember just how bad things were for them.

Positive things seemed to happen after he arrived, but I don't know how much of those things could be attributed to him. The little interaction I had with him left a positive impression on me, and I don't say that about many people from NLULM.

Yep, I've heard he was a pretty good guy, I was quipping about the preconceived notion about academic types/lectures from my college days.

This is so funny. When I was checking in at the airport in Monroe Monday wearing my Tech stuff and there was a man and his wife checking in next to me. I was focusing on checking my bag and what have you and the American Airline guy says, Hey look Dr. Cofer! Here's a Louisiana Tech fan! I looked up and sure enough there stands Cofer in his Warchicken suit and I started laughing. So anyway, turns out Cofer is sitting right next to me on the plane. I couldn't help but notice that he and his wife were studying some Missouri State literature pretty hard on that flight to Dallas. I thought Ruh Roh Shaggy, somebody is going to a job interview and I was amused. I was even more amused to arrive home today and find out I was right and a thread had been started on this very topic with my name in it! Thanks, guys!!! Missed y'all so much!
