I doubt it. If they only lose two, they'll grab Utah and BYU (both of whom understand that one bird in the bag is worth two in the bush...read MWC AQ status). That's where it gets interesting. Can Bannowsky grab some MWC schools to insulate his league from BE raids? One thing is for sure, Benson won't do ANYTHING proactive. Just imagine a CUSA where Marshall, Memphis, UCF, and ECU were replaced with TCU, Tech, Air Force, and Colorado State.

I wont dispute that UTAH/BYU would be a decent response to losing Nebraska/Mizzou....but I just haven't seen any smoke at all coming out of Big12 circles on that subject.
The only rumors Ive heard about UTAH is the PAC10 wanting that Salt Lake market.

Although I would take New Mexico over Colorado State. Nothing against the Rams, just think that NM would be a better fit for a new and improved CUSA.

UTEP would probably agree.
I think New Mexico would bring more in terms of overall contribution across a range of sports....but I do like the combo of Air Force and Colorado State. That's pre-packaged rivalry from day 1.

I think we will see conferences go for closer georgraphic fits. I don't think New Mexico or Colorado State end up in CUSA. I wouldn't be shocked if UTEP did something different before long. There is just too much money lost by traveling those distances. Look at us, how much better off would we be if we were going to Rice, Tusla, Houston, and SMU than where we travel to now.
