What's your opinion of keeping or letting go Coach Sim?

Give him one more year? Cut him now? Keep him on board for awhile? Any opinions not on the poll are welcome as well

I voted keep him one more because the other two seemed to extreme. I will say he needs a few years of true support. Financial and fan, and see what he can do.

Should be an option for starting another thread about Sim being fired.

How about one per "Should we keep Sim if he will release/change over his coaching staff"?

I agree with BigDog28 on this. The coaches dont need to be fired over this, does it seem to happen each year with the pitching staff being banged up yes.

I know all 3 personally and its not like they are acting like some other schools were they know they are safe no matter what happens, they want to win but the travel they face in the this conference is not conducive to winning regularly.

The travel doesn't keep other conference opponents from winning regularly.

It really depends on how you define "winning regularly", because our entire conference is facing this same situation. Not a single team in the league has had a winning conference record each of the last three seasons.

The travel is part of it, but it also has to do with the distinct home-field advantage some of the teams in our league possess along with the four-game weekend schedule.

In the past three seasons, the majority of the league has finished near .500. This year, the difference between second and fifth place was 14-9-1 vs. 11-13. In 2009, Tech was second in the league at 13-11, while fifth-place Nevada was 10-13. In 2008, the difference between second and sixth place was 18-14 vs. 14-17.

All those factors have turned the WAC into a one-bid baseball league, albeit with some very talented teams. We've already seen some of the teams in the conference go weaker on the non-conference schedule, and that trend with almost certainly continue.

Also, outside of Hawaii nobody travels as much as we do. Yes they all travel, but they don't travel across the freaking country three time every year.
