What do you think will happen after TCU and Houston accept a bid to the Big 12? Those schools in the MWC will be fighting for those other 6 spots. The Big East did not lose their AQ status when they lost Miami, Virginia Tech, and BC. They brought in 3 CUSA schools and didn't miss a beat. This would probably be the very best senario for La Tech. We could become the 7th member followed by New Mexico, AFA, Co. State. After they get 10 members, Utah and BYU would be begging to join, and so would Boise.
They would have to be granted a waiver because all NCAA distributable money would follow the schools who earned the credits -
The only thing that would remain would be the TV money and it would then be a non-factor without the NCAA basketball money - since the BigXii's tv money is the worst out there among the AQ conferences
6 TEAMS HAVE TO STAY TOGETHER under the current rules
