It would be the old Big 8 less Nebraska.

AND this conference would have awful-enough mean academics to add Boise without blinking an eye. Toss in TCU and Houston and there you go.

TCU stays in MWC and Tech goes in. TCU and Tech would both be in an AQ conference. There you go.........

Or they could go larger and pull in TCU and a few others WITH Tech.

I meant they could get an invite to the Pac 10. They could've screwed themselves big time by inviting Colorado over Baylor. If Texas says no now, they are at 11 and need to find replacements. Do they go to 12 and call it a day? Do they take Oklahoma and OK State and find 3 more schools (most obvious would be Kansas, Kansas State, and Utah). Or do they sit at 11 and wait to find better solution in the future?

Well, if the Texas legislature situation is truly a problem, its away to keep the politicians off their backs and still make a whole lot of money. I have to think the contract the SEC can make with that 16 team lineup would be incredible. Plus Texas gets to continue their separate marketing efforts.

I think it improves the odds of us getting into an improved conference situation too.

All this stuff is interesting but all any of us are really concerned with is what happens to us. I'm past being ready for this phase to get settled so we can get our deal done.

Well from what they said on College football live last week. Pac 10 has 4 different plans.

A complete merger with Big 12.(All schools)

    The 6 teams mentioned

    Staying Put

    Utah and Colorado*

    * Colorado has happened so if the other 5 dont jump can we assume they will just go get Utah? However this stuff has been very very fluid. Whats up is down whats black is white AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Here is the ESPN post on Colorado leaving:

Rick Perry has asked the four Texas schools to meet to see how they could stay together. That explains the reason for the meeting.

Lets not forget Baylor gets HUGE checks from the big12. Give us that money and we'd have surpassed Baylor's results.

The one flaw in the Pac 10s plan is the latest info on USC. Utah very well could be the option to 12. But they desperately need another big fish in the conference in case this punishment hurts USC past the 2 year ban from post season.

If that happens, it'll be the second time a TX gov pulled Baylor's feet out of the fire.
