The NCAA will announce sanctions against USC tomorrow as a result of violations by the men's basketball and football programs. According to a source, the sanctions include:
- a forfeiture of wins from at least the 2004 National Championship season
- a reduction of scholarships (maybe more than 20 scholarships overall)
- a 2-year postseason ban on the USC Football program
The basketball program had already reduced its scholarships, vacated the victories from the 2007-08 season, and banned itself from postseason play.

It looks like this may be a reason that Pete Carroll left USC to coach the Seattle Seahawks, since he had to know these possible sanctions would damage USC's ability to play competitively for a while due to the loss of scholarships and lack of postseason play.
