This is the most fun off-season yet! It is better than a coaching search!

It's official. Pac-10 acted quickly on CU to make sure the Texas politicians didn't have time to come up with a plan to force Baylor on them.

Re: Colorado Just Accepted PAC10 Offer!

I should have posted this on this thread. Here is the ESPN post on Colorado leaving:

    http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?id=5271438

Rick Perry has asked the four Texas schools to meet to see how they could stay together. That explains the reason for the meeting.

    Here is an interesting twist:

The [unnamed Big XII] coach said it's possible the Pac-16 would push for two automatic bids to the BCS, one for each division champion. That potential bonanza could open the possibility of the two division champs from one league playing for the national title, and it would eliminate the need for a conference championship game. "The Pac-10 doesn't believe in a championship game," the coach said. "And coaches in the Big 12 don't like it anyway."

I wouldn't be shocked if this backfires on the Pac 10. In the end I doubt Texas is blocked from doing what is best for them but you never know.

I don't think UT really cares about Baylor. I think it's just the politicians who are pushing it. UT is now left in the Big 12 without Nebraska and Colorado. I don't think UT has any leverage over the Pac-10 now unless they threaten to join the SEC, but the SEC wouldn't take all 4 Texas teams so it's a moot argument. All they might could do now is try to block Oklahoma State in favor of Baylor, and I don't think Boone Pickens lets that happen.

I'm not saying Texas actually cares. But if the legislature in Texas decides not to let them go without Baylor, what can the Pac 10 now do? Texas is the only school in this deal that matters and the Pac 10 is taking a big risk in not getting them by inviting Colorado first.

They have a huge ego though. If they requested it, and didn't get it ... well.

Who knows what is going on. Texas may have told the Pac X to do it.

This is the craziest stuff I have ever seen.
