That's not too bad! Let us know how you like it...I may have to keep my ear to the ground...

That is a good deal. I got a Pavilion dv6 a few months ago for ~$650. Mine as the i5 and 4GB RAM and I really like it. If the above deal were available I'd have likely done that. A Core i7 for under $1k is a good deal.

Does it have a multi-touch touch pad? That is the one thing I'm disappointed about. Some of the HP netbooks have them, so why not my Pavilion?

I basically have the same kind. I got one 2 months ago. HP dv6t. My screen is a 15in vs this 17in that is currently on sale. I love it after I got rid of the HP bloatware. No multi-touch (it doesn't bother me, I use an external mouse).

I agree, finding an i7 under $1000 is a good deal especially with 6GB of ram. RAM for laptop isn't cheap.
    My dv6t ($950 w/ free shipping):
    Intel i7
    4GB ram
    1gig nVidia graphic card
    BluRay

Nice. Mine was $650 with free shipping: dv6-2170us: 4GB ram, but just i5 proc, onboard graphics and DVD-RW drive. It does, however, have a 12-cell battery, which gives it excellent battery life, and a remote (though the remote hasn't really been all that useful). It was such a huge upgrade over my old laptop (Dell Latitude D600) that I'm happy with the mid-range features it has. Do wish it had BlueRay. I may look into putting a BluRay drive in an external case with an eSATA connection.
