Big League World Series

Apparently there is a Big League World Series. It is basically the teenage version of the little league world series, and it takes place in South Carolina. There is a team based out of Ruston.

The team contains LA Tech signee Taylor Burch and future Bulldog (I believe) T.J. Murphy. There may be more future Bulldogs on the team, but I am not aware of our commitments or possible incoming freshman. The team (Southwest by name) will play again on Monday. I think regardless of the outcome they will play the semi-final game the following day because they are 3-0 in pool play. If they win that game, they would play 8/4 against the international winner on ESPN.

Just giving you guys a heads up on some future Bulldogs doing good things on a national level.

I think Colby Johnson from Ruston High is coming to play at Tech. Not sure though.

On another note the Ruston Little League 11-12 all-star team is 5 games away from going to Williamsport and playing the in the Little League World Series that we see every year on ESPN.

I believe Ryan Gephart who signed with Tech from Ouachita is also on the team

Mark Threlkeld played in this the year before he came to Tech.

I was invites to play on that team twice when they went to play in the world series. I regret it now. Eddie Parkman still coaches the team and does a good job with the kids.
