I saw a S. Sgt. on tv last night that it was an insult to his unit to call them non combats now that the pullout deadline has come and gone. They are still in Iraq and doing their same job with alot at stake and in harms way. So true and its shows just how proud and dedicated our brave troops are. Just pitiful that our politicians are trying to score political points and appease their supporters.
Glad to see a real leader give BUSH credit and understand what true "genuine integrity and political courage" is these days.

Despite formal combat end, US joins Baghdad battle
Days after the U.S. officially ended combat operations and touted Iraq's ability to defend itself, American troops found themselves battling heavily armed militants assaulting an Iraqi military headquarters in the center of Baghdad on Sunday. The fighting killed 12 people and wounded dozens.
Baghdad has been on high alert since President Barack Obama declared the official end to U.S. combat operations on Wednesday, setting up more checkpoints, intensifying searches of people and vehicles and handing out more guns and bullets to troops guarding the capital.
