    boats

Been looking at boats....mainly for use in Bruin, Caney, Claiborne....once in a while in False River.....most of the time will be Ouachita when at pool stage......

I want to pull the trigger on a Stingray 205LS....it seems to be much better quality than a tahoe boat....but the engine is the 190 4.3 volvo carb.....not as smooth at lower speeds and idle as some of the brand new penta versions...

money pit....I know....but any thoughts, suggestions from fellow dawg fans would be appreciated.

    Don't do it....

But if you insist, start looking now for a used boat - after Labor Day is the best time to buy and you can find some low hour bargains

For ski and other recreation, I don't think you can beat a Moomba. We have really enjoyed ours and it hasn't given us any problem. We did as instructed on the break in period. We clean it up and store it like we are taking it to a parade. Other than that, nothing to complain of. It is expensive to buy, and more expensive to fix, but when you don't have anything to fix it is gerat.

We bought from Gus Campbell in West Monroe, but all of our yearly service is done in Dallas. They are much more competent and handle a larger volume there. The reason we bought this one from Gus is because we bought our MasterCraft from there. We were not pleased with that boat at any point. We had a bunch of modifications done, but Gus and his crew and were never satisfied. We got the Moomba fully loaded from the factory and it has been great.

Buy the dealer, not the boat. I've got an '08 Tahoe and love it. Great service from Letsinger Marine in Monroe. Tahoe is on the lower end, but we're young, and have young kids, so I knew it wasn't going to be kept in pristine condition for very long.

Buy used and you won't get upside down. Lots of good used boats out there.

Never use it while Tech is having a home game.

Sounds like a myth or is that because used boats float better having been in the water several times to get accustomed to the buoyancy so less likely to flip over?
