    Bluegrass/OldTime Musicians wanted

Looking to see if we got some Tech people on here that want to get together and jam around the N.LA, South Arkansas area.

Just looking to set up a good jam in the area. Once a month just isn't getting it done.

    I'm primarily an old-time fiddler/claw-hammer banjo player.

You ought to hook up with Brian Martin. Hes a Tech grad that plays the blues.

He will be back in the area first of the month.

Just wondering! Does anyone on the board know James Burton the guitar player supremo? I believe he was born in Minden and later moved to shreveport. Any stories or info. would be appreciated. IMO one of the greatest guitar players ever of any genre!

You might touch base with Ben Rogers (guitar) up in Dubach. He's probably meddled with some bluegrass over the past 40 years........ Waylon Thibodeaux is supposed to be playing Lincoln Hall on 9/11, he might know some others in this area too.

I'd love to, but I'm a little far away (and probably under-talented) for any regular jam.

It might be worth a shot to ask Dr. Roach (assuming you're around the Ruston area) to point you in the direction of some pickers. I've seen her email address recently on some forwards for bluegrass (and I use that term loosely in Louisiana...) get-to-gethers.

Tres cool read, by the way:
