Bonanza Oct. 27?

The web page has a blurb about a Bonanaza on Oct. 25th at tehe Thomas Assembly center and the time but no other info!
What's going to be going on?

It's an annual event. Both men's and women's teams compete against media. Last year Karl Malone and TSpoon pumped the crowd up. Always a good thing for the press, but need more people/students to make it a bigger event. Hopefully, this year will have a good crowd.

When I think of Bonanza, I think of steak. Do they still have "Bonanza Steak Houses". Used to be one in Ruston way back......

Yes. It was actually started by "Hoss." It was also one of the Wylys' early investments.

I'm not sure this gives the insight into the event that everyone is looking for, but fwiw here is the latest update by Lady Techster's Facebook page:

"The Basketball Bonanza has been set for October 27th at 7:30 inside the Thomas Assembly Center...The event is free to all Tech fans and free popcorn and drinks will be provided...We would love to see you there...."

It usually is media vs. players and some players vs. players. Just a fun time for fans and students in a scrimmage type situation. Hopefully, there will be a big turn out and get the fans into the excitement - certainly get the media in it. :icon_wink:

I think a Student/Faculty game would be great. It'll draw more students to the Bonanza. I highly doubt the Media celebrity game will excite the fanbase.

Need to excite the media, as well. I like the idea, though. They could do several scrimmages. Didn't they do a faculty one once? Can't remember....

Nope.

But the local media game doesn't excite the fans...why do we need to excite the media?

Need to get the media involved in the program and writing about it. We need some good press this year to get people coming to games and our crowds up. Always need the media.

That is NOT to discount what you are saying, though. I totally agree that we need something to excite the students.
