Nice to see Tech had a better outing against them.
I'd agree if our team hadn't allowed that game to be such a let down. Turns out we put too much emphasis on a game we had zero chance of winning and forgot to show up a week and a half later against a team we needed desperately to beat.
To me, this just shows how far behind Boazy we are. We LOST at frickin' home to that Fresno bunch?????? How is that possible? No....I wouldn't expect to CRUSH Fresno like that. But, ummmm, beating them? Ah....yeah.

On the flipside "Mark May be Wrong!" There is no question, Mark May is a moron. Boazy is simply GOOD! Real good.
To me that shows how much impact a good defense can have. I would bet a lot of money on a new DC next year . . . unless we don't get into CUSA . . . we'll play hell getting a better DC if we don't have a stable future.
We can't complete deep passes like Boise can. Fresno does a good job of taking away the run game and the short passing game and they are willing to take some chances with the deep passes. And Boise's second team defense looked about like our first team defense. We have got to get some great defensive linemen like they have (both teams).... somehow!! It makes a HUGE difference if you can get that kind of pressure without blitzing. Fresno's QB never had a chance (I think he passed for 85 yards) and Rouse had about 30 yards against the 1st team defense.... compared to 286 against us!!
No question about it: Defense wins Championships.
The pundits have come to recognize what many of us have been saying for years, Boazy's strength is their defense.
They are efficient (and yes, talented) on offense, of course. But, if they had a typical "WAC-like" defense (from the early years of the league) no way would they be this good.
