i think everyone thought d'anthony smith was a good player when he was here. but we missed him a lot this year and he never really came close to being replaced. our d tackles are undersized, except for #70 who is oversized. if you can't stop off tackle runs, you can't stop anything.

Where was the wilddawg with Livas or with Creer or with Casey. Where is empty out the cupboards or leave nothing in the tool chest (?)I understand execution matters but good grief make their defense defend mulitiple formations and GIVE the BALL TO LIVA MORE, especially when a bowl game is on the line.
Every time Livas ran a kick back or caught a quick pass it was almost like he was so close to breaking one. This puts so much pressure on the D - why not feed him the ball more - it's his last game. :bigcry:

I wouldn't mind seeing us move to a 3-4. We have no pass rush other than Broha and a stable of LBs. Seems like that would give us more options for blitzing and attacking the backfield. Someone may be able to explain why this would be a bad idea, but seems like a thought.
Determining what defensive scheme we employ is not our job, our job is to pressure the Admin. and coaching staff to employ a successful football team. If that means that assistant coaching changes must occur, assistant coaching changes must occur. If the head coach doesn't make the changes necessary then we must push for change at the head coaching position. If Admin cannot attract good coaches then we must push for changes in Admin including the University President position. Louisiana Tech and North Louisiana deserve more than they have gotten for the past 20 years.
One year is not enough to measure the success of a head coach, but two is getting close. I hope for our sake coach Dykes is learning from the many Tech coaching mistakes of this year.
Our DBs were afraid to hit special K and tackle too high anyway. None of them are fundamental tacklers. We have some big hitters, just not great tacklers.
My biggest beef was J Vic had an opportunity to light up Kaepernickle about 1 foot in the endzone and just let him go right by him........Some of our DBs are scared of contact.
