I hope we can get Ivory back at full strength next year. If Pierre and Reggie are going to be injured I would rather have him back there any any other guy anyway.
Ivory is just as if not more injury prone than PT and Reggie. We have 3 solid backs who all seem to get knicked up on the reg.

As many have said, the offense was not the problem today. Our defense couldn't cover nor tackle a soul. And holy crap did I underappreciate Roby at KR. Devery has no business ever returning another kick and Meachem wasn't much better. Just a sickening game and a huge letdown. Ruined my weekend.

Im wondering if DC Greg Williams, hinted at interview for a HC job, was part of the lost focus by our D. It shouldn't have mattered anyway! Horrible...just horrible!

Roby is definitely the man on kick returns. He gets up a head of steam fast and makes a decision about the way to go and doesn't stutter step. He commits and plows his way. We need him healthy.

Yep, that is the new thing in the NFL. You have to have 4 or 5 guys you feel comfortable giving the ball to at the RB position. I thought we had enough, but when Ivory and Pierre went down, that is just too much burden for Julius Jones.

Devery just looked scared out there. Could we not go get Brian Mitchell out of retirement, even at 50, he would have been better.

IMHO this is a good summary. That said I would have blamed the overall D more.

No doubt the defense cost them, but the first big mistake of the day came from Bush. I've had it with his chicken sh*t style of playing football.

Saints O scores 4 tds and 3 fgs, the D blows and gives up 41 points to one of the worst offenses in the league, yet some how people still find a way to blame Reggie. Its almost comical now. Is he the best running back in the league? No. Is he a good NFL player? Yes. Thank Reggie for Jones's first rushing TD when he went in untouched. Reggie didn't dance around this year like early in his career. He runs the ball downhill for the most part and lowers his shoulder more often as opposed to running out of bounds. He doesn't run over guys like Ivory but we didn't draft him to do that. If Reggie leaves via FA, we will miss him. He is a perfect fit in Payton's offense. Obviously we shouldn't overpay for him, but IMO we need to try to work out a new deal that keeps Reggie in the black and gold.

If Reggie needs his ass kicked, Roman Harper needs to ge this ass kicked 3 times. If you are going to try to pin this on one player, Harper made 3 huge mistakes, and it wasnt even close. Reggie's dropped TD chance hurt, no doubt. However, we put up 36 points on the road against a team that averaged less than 20 points per game. Hell, KC went into Seattle and pummelled them. Embarassing from the D.

If I was Roman Harper, I'd retire. That was as pathetic a game as a defensive back could have. He got burned at least 5 times that I saw. Not blaming everything on him, the Saints defense just don't know how to tackle. Didn't last year in the Super Bowl run, but they got away with it. They try to stip the ball too much.

Let's hope in the draft and free agency, they get a running back that can stay healthy (Ricky Williams is a free agent.....just sayin) and a couple good defensive backs.

    Always next year! WHO DAT!

The list of unrestricted and restricted free agents is long, not to mention guys like Reggie and Shockey are in the last year of expensive contracts. The front office definitely has a lot of work to do this offseason.

Simply put, Reggie Bush needs to be moved to full-time WR, because that's what he is. He's not even a serviceable running back in this league. Sorry, but that's the truth. I'd love to have him stay as a complementary piece to the offense, but it should be at a reasonable price tag of $3-4 million. Somebody, however, is going to pay him $7-8 million, and that somebody shouldn't be us. I'd rather just cut our losses if he's going to warrant that kind of money on the open market.

I agree about Reggie as a WR. Only give him a few handoffs here and there on reverses out of the slot after using him as a decoy most of the time. He simply cannot take the ball out of the backfield and get good yards. He is great in space, and there just isnt space running between the tackles and not a ton on the outside in the NFL game. Saints do not need to over bid, they need to make a reasonable offer, and if someone beats it, you have to let him go if he wants to.

I also agree about playing him almost exclusively at WR. He could possibly be the deep threat that Desean Jackson is. In my opinion he needs to come off the field less. Some times I think Payton has too many packages and too much rotating of players. Depth is great but sometimes its just better to play your best players for the majority of the snaps.
