When I saw that the title of the ULM student's winning essay was "I Believe in the Pot", I thought the essay would be something other than family fellowship.

Tech has been doing a summer reading program with it's First-Year Experience program for a few years now. http://www.latech.edu/fye/commonread.shtml One of the speakers at Freshman Convocation always speaks about the book.

A lot of colleges are doing this as part of their first year student programs... Clemson, Dartmouth, Duke, South Carolina, North Carolina, and LSU.

You mean these other schools, lsu included, are doing this and may have been for longer than us and we are still doing it???? What an outrage, we should call for someone's head to roll for this. We should stop immediately.
