After watching the shooter's videos, it sounds more like mental illness than political motivations right now.

I tend to agree. There will be many more attempts on democrats' lives because of conservative talk radio. They do a superlative job at influencing their base to absolutely hate the left. Conservative talk radio reminds me of that radio station on the movie "Hotel Rwanda".

This is part of a general escalation that has been going on for decades, spearheaded by liberal socialist and anarchist. It will get worse, and that is just the way it has been planned. It's not a conservative or liberal issue, it's a human issue. Extremes of EVERY ideology is the cause for incidents such as this. Add into a combination with mental defects, it becomes even more dangerous.
The way it has been planned? By who? Name names please. If there is anything that is planned it is conservatives planning to try to kill anyone who tries to step out of the box a little. It is not a coincidence that most of this country's political leaders that have been assassinated have been the leftist type. Many of them did great things right before they were killed but it wasn't realized at the time.

I take it you haven't actually studied politics? Otherwise, you would have seen I already did "name names" - it is not individuals, it is ideologies. Small ideologies, especially the extreme ideologies of the world, don't just go away and disappear. No, they assimilate into larger groups and attempt to work as much of their ideology into another, changing both and not always for the better.
You have no facts to back up what you say. Your accusation of a disproportionate attempts on leftist is grossly wrong. You would only be right in stating that out of all the attempts that have happened, which are about equal, more of those on the left have died. It isn't from a lack of attempts on those on the right.

The left is much more violent and agressive than the right.... in both speech and action. If you've watched Glenn Beck this week, he's shown a good analogy of the left and right using Star Wars. The left is all about the dark side and embracing your anger and getting in the streets to show it. Whereas the right is more Yoda-like and warns that anger can lead to violence if you don't harness it correctly.
