I have a pot of chicken and sausage gumbo, a pot of rice, a 12 pack of Diet Dr. Pepper and a secret stash of Hershey's Kisses left from Christmas. I'm ready for anything.
Yep, bring it on!
I had to get some whole milk for my 2 year old and witnessed the break phenomenon at Super 1. There weren't but a handful of spots open in the whole parking lot. I asked a friend of mine what she thought as we watched bread being snatched off the shelves. (Super 1 buys into the hoax too, cause they were restocking as quickly as the food was disappearing.) She just laughed and said, "It will be 40 degrees and everyone will be throwing out moldy bread by Jan 18th."
Kroger in NLR was packed to the gills this evening. Everyone was stocking up on milk, bread & eggs.
I'm starting to think everybody must make french toast whenever it snows here.
I'm seeing mostly sleet with a little rain at my apartment in Bossier City right now. The sleet is starting to accumulate on the ground and the cars.
The estimates for snowfall keep going up. The latest forecast is for 3-5 inches of snow this morning and afternoon with another 1-3 inches this evening.
Freezing rain is here.
Now a combination of sleet and freezing rain in Bossier City. Temperature is still falling.
Road closures in Shreveport/Bossier City:
Interstate 49 from Exit 199 (Bert Kouns Exit) to Exit 206 (Interstate 20 Exit)
Entire span of Interstate 220 (Shreveport & Bossier City)
Highway 2 bridge (Plain Dealing) is now closed
Freezing rain has been accumulating on the trees for about an hour.
