McCain was putting Arizona's best interests first. There were a number of other republican senators who were ready to vote no if necessary but McCain took the political heat for them.

I can tell that you are upset, Paw. Maybe McCain could not resist giving the middle finger to a guy who insulted him a couple of times.

You mean McCain the hero? The one who lies when he opens his mouth. Do I need to replay all the lies he told to get BARELY re-elected. Arizona voters are dumber than Louisiana voters who voted for anybody named Edwards.

Frustrated in defeat, Trump threatens healthcare of voters -- and lawmakers

“If a new HealthCare Bill is not approved quickly, BAILOUTS for Insurance Companies and BAILOUTS for Members of Congress will end very soon!” Trump tweeted, fuming about Congress’ failure to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which he said was “imploding.”

Targeting congressional healthcare might score Trump some populist points with his base, but it would likely come at a cost of poisoning his relationship with Congress. Just making the threat on Saturday highlights how far things have eroded between Trump and top GOP lawmakers.

Come on Salty. A good socialist commie like you should be all in when it comes to exposing the corrupt establishment in DC for the total frauds that they are. If Obamacare is good enough for you and I, why isn't it good enough for the lawmakers themselves? Trump is right on this issue, and you know he is. It is absolute BS that congress voted to exempt themselves from the same crappy healthcare plan that they imposed on the rest of us. Trump is just the first person to get to DC that has enough integrity to call spade a spade and call out the corrupt bastards in congress that did it. We elected Trump to expose all corrupt politicians, Democrat AND Republican, and that's exactly what he's doing.

The difference between we conservatives and you liberals is that you liberals look the other way no matter how corrupt the Democrats are. That's what the corrupt media tells you to do, and you all do it. We conservatives, on the other hand, finally garnered enough courage to think for ourselves. We elected Trump, a complete outsider from the corrupt DC establishment. We elected him to drain the swamp and expose the absolute corruption that exists in DC. It's a tall order, but it's our nation's only hope.

I keep hoping that people like you will some day grow a set and stop worshipping the Democrat Party like you do, but I see no signs of it happening anytime soon. That's a damn shame too. As far as I can tell, you guys all continue to march in lock step to whatever BS those corrupt A-holes spoon feed you every day. For the life of me, I can't understand why. Are you simply afraid of the establishment in DC? Freedom isn't free, and it isn't for everybody, that's for sure. It certainly isn't for anyone too cowardly to stand up to tyranny whenever it's exposed. When our congress awarded themselves the healthcare plan that they did, it was an act of pure tyranny. Free men should never stand for such abuse of power from ANY elected official, no matter what his political party affiliation is.

I agree that Congress should have the same healthcare system that everybody else in the general population has.

The primary reason the DC system is corrupt is because there is practically no limits to how much money lobbyists and donors can spend to influence Congress and elections.

Trump is not right on this issue because he has not presented any real reform to the health care system. It's the same old same old deal except he wants to take away the health insurance of 20+ million people in order to give hundreds of $billlions in tax cuts to the richest people in America. You are kidding yourself if you think that Trump doesn't (1) totally support the current corrupt system in DC and (2) he gives a rat's ass about the common average person in America. He is just interest in conning them for their vote.

What political party is more corrupt in America. The answer depends upon which political party a person belongs to. Trump, because of his temperment and psychological pathology, is a disaster for America's self-esteem and reputation. The good news is that America will survive Trump and will become stronger because he has shown that the job of leading America and the Free World is not the same as hosting a reality TV show.

I'm a registered Independent. I suggest that you become the same and quit watching Fox News and reading the Washington Times.

I'm a capitalist, not a socilist or commie unless you believe that supporting Social Security, food stamps, and the General Welfare of the country is socialism/communism. Anyway, America is not as bad shape that you seem to believe, It has seen tougher times than now.

Our nation is bankrupt. A day of reckoning is coming for the forty plus years of reckless spending that's gone on in DC. And I quit watching Fox News a long time ago, and I've NEVER read the Washington Times a single time in my entire life. I ignore the corrupt mainstream media. It's all fake news.

McCain is not coming back from his cancer tratment within 2 weeks to vote, so the republicans don't have the votes to do squat. The polls show that the American people want the Senate to move on to other issues. Trump is such a poor leader that he can't accept defeat and move on. It's personal to him.

Yes, we have a huge national debt. Probably the best we can do is have fiscal restraint and try to reduce it as a percentage of the GNP.

sure would be nice if the republicans would hold hearings and actually propose some health care reform that would cut and contain health care costs.
