    Best Recruiting Class?

The 1971 freshman. I watched these guys for four years.

    The group included:
    Pat Tilley
    Charles McDaniels
    Roland Harper
    Fred Dean
    Wenford Wilborn
    Roy Waters
    and Ricky Shirley

You forgot two more 4-year starters from that class - Randy Crouch and Larry Griffin.

Bagley was one of the best nose guards I've ever seen. Springmeyer was no slouch either. I would take that class again.

Bagley was a walk-on, paid his dues, and willed himself a starting spot. That's a really hard thing to do.

Arkie State had one of the best wishbones I've ever seen when they went undefeated in 77 or 78. They could routinely pick up a third and 15 out of the bone. That is the big failure of most bone attacks. Bags had 20 something tackles against them. Best game I've ever seen from a NG.

You are welcome. When I found the program for the State Fair game, it brought back a lot of memories. Considering that Roger Carr was a soph and Mike Barber came on board in 1972, there was sine talent on the field.
