    Chinese J10

Don't get me wrong. I'm not downplaying the development of a stealth fighter from the Chinese. And given all of the hype and rumors, I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread dedicated to this topic yet.

However, I do believe President Obama should send a copy of "You've Lost that Loving Feeling" over to our friends in China.

    http://popwatch.ew.com/2011/01/31/china-top-gun/

How did anything think this would be a good idea?

    Re: Chinese J10

Yeah, this was pretty funny. Not sure exactly what the purpose of using the video was for. My guess is that some commanding officer ordered a publicity video for the J10 and a lowly enlisted man wound up trying to provide it. Unfortunately for him, he either destroyed the video tape or deleleted the file and had to resort to "other" means to provided the requested video. I cannot believe that the Chinese are dumb enough to believe that this would have gone unnoticed by the west.

On the stealth fighter, I am not really worried about it at this point and probably not in the future as well. Stealth aircraft are difficult to design and build. We shall see if they are successful on the technical side or not. What is worrisome is their ability to do this covertly without any inkling from the west. You have to wonder what else they have in the pipeline that we do not know about.

Shot down in Serbia in 99.

I would not be surprised to learn that at least part of the technology came from their sources in the U.S.

Yep more stolen tech. I am with the Donald on this one. Trump that is, these guys aren't our friends. Also, there seems to be a gap or disconnect between their leaders and the military. A very tricky situation that our potus is trying to downplay so as not to seem confrontational.

Had our annual Counter-intelligence (CI) briefing last week by NCIS and this case was presented as an example:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...040203952.html

The interesting point is that all of the documents he sent to the Chinese were unclass. The CI brief was pretty interesting in that it brought to our attention that even "mundane" and seemingly unimportant information are all pieces in the puzzle and a good intelligence agent can make a relatively accurate assessment of the situation with a minimum of information. They just have to have a few "right" pieces... Of course with the Internet, that job is easier than ever.

Klinton-algore sold missile guidance technology to the Chicoms to fund their 1996 re-election campaign. At first they tried to deny it. But later admitted to, but said it was older tech and besides, and this is the part that really rubbed (rubs) me the wrong way, spokesmen for Klinton said it is better that the Chinese rockets be more accurate cuz it would provide a better chance they would hit what they were aiming at (military targets) and reduce the chance of collateral damage (civilians).

Roll that thought over in your mind a few times...

Chinese, just like every other country not holier-than-thou (US, Western European nations mostly), does not care about collateral damage. If there is a fight, everyone is a target until the fight is over.

You could give thrr Chinese the guidance system to the V2 rockets, and they would be able to upgrade it to modern levels.

What makes it even better, you ask?

We are paying for these planes and ships with our interest payments to China for Barack's borrowing and spending habits.

Up to more no good and they are paying for it off of our interest payments on our debt and the huge trade imbalance.:bigcry:

Interesting. I wonder if they're actually going to start letting their pilots have some flight time (and hence acquire some aviation skills) or if they're just going to plan for 40-60% losses for routine operations. I guess it's a good thing for Chinese aviators that it will be one of the longest flight decks in the world (per the chart on the linked article).
