Despite the fact that classes have been cancelled for Friday at Louisiana Tech University due to the possibility of winter weather in the area, the Lady Techsters huge Western Athletic Conference showdown with Fresno State on Saturday night at 7 p.m. will still be played.
In a rematch of a triple overtime thriller that Louisiana Tech won 94-92 on Jan. 13 in Fresno, the Lady Techsters and Bulldogs will play for the second time in less than a month with first place in the league standings on the line.
Tech currently holds a one-game lead in the WAC with a perfect 7-0 mark while Fresno State is only one game behind at 6-1. The Bulldogs were scheduled to play tonight (Thursday night) at New Mexico State but that game has been postponed due to rolling power outages in Las Cruces.
Saturday's weather forecast for the Ruston area is for clear skies and temperatures in the 50s as all Lady Techster fans are encouraged to come out and enjoy the promotional activities surrounding the game as the theme for the night is "FAIRwell Fresno State".
Carnival rides including ferris wheels, tilt-a-whirls and miniature roller coasters will begin at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the Thomas Assembly Center parking lot. All rides are free with a ticket to the game or a Tech student ID.
Due to the cold temperatures, all tailgating as been moved inside the concourse of the TAC and will begin at 5:30 p.m. while tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
Ticket Booths will open at 4 p.m. and doors to the TAC will open at 4:30 p.m. The first 300 fans to the Tech ticket booth on game-day will receive a free ticket to the game while all other tickets are only $5.

Hey I remember the storm of 87 where everyone got stranded on campus after 2 inches of ice( one of my best memories at Tech...sliding down the hill in between the the Nat and Mitchell on Tech cafeteria trays), and we still went to the game since the other team made it. I think we played Colorado or one of those teams who were used to the snow. Heading up the stairs to the TAC was interesting, but I remember we won and had a great time!
Sad that today's kids cannot experience Wilson Cafeteria! How many of you remember the great hamburgers from the tonk?
