An Address To All Belivers In Christ by David Whitmer

This pamplet has changed my views on the Book of Mormon, but also strengthed my disdain for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
You realize that the church you are referring to has since renounced polygamy and excommunicates those that practice it, right?

yes I understand that they have done away with polygamy. The pamplet that I listed a link to shows alot more information about how the original church of christ changed from a form of christianity into something completely differnt.

You can read the book yourself and draw your on conclusions. There is alot more to it than polygamy.

They may have been resuscitated (like Lazerus), but not resurrected. Jesus is STILL alive.

Yes as in Isaiah 53:1-12 foretelling/prophecy of Jesus as the Christ (i.e., Messiah). Heck, most Jews have never even heard of that chapter and in fact it is removed by most Rabbi's. Keep in mind most Jews don't read their own scrolls/Hebrew "Bible" themselves. Very sad but the Rabbi's do it for them.

I had a lenghty discussion with a rabbi a while back about Isaiah 53. The Jews widely accept this chapter to be talking about the Jews as a whole... the history of the Jewish people and how they are treated by the world. The justification is that God always refers to the Jews as "my servant" throughout the Old Testament. We ended up agreeing to disagree. But their eyes have been closed by God so that Gentiles can have salvation also... so it's cool.

This is very true and again very sad indeed! The Rabbi's are lying to their people and God's people. When a jewish person actually hears or reads Isaiah 53 many times their eyes are opened as well as their hearts for the first time. It's an amazing thing to behold when it happens. Much like the Link I posted about that Muslim's conversion to Christ/Christianity on BB&B....very dramatic and life changing experience.

Most Jews can't get past God becoming a man. To worship Jesus is to worship an idol... in their eyes. Another very powerful verse from the Old Testament is Isaiah 9:6:

For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

I've never gotten a good explanation for that one!

True. They only believe in the selected few prophecies of the coming Messiah/Christ such as you posted. But nothing or non that would even hint at Jesus the Christ being the one.

To fund other Church endeavors that raise money.

Actually, you get to choose where it goes, right?

For example, you can send it to church/ward mission funds or BoM publishing or other general church supported humanitarian efforts.

The general tithing (category 1 "Tithing") is general church operating costs, including managing church properties that generate income. Some of the income generated from these properties may be used to pay stipends to GAs.
