Fresno State is the preseason favorite of the WAC baseball head coaches. TECH finished 6th in the voting.

There are no TECH players on the preseason WAC team. This seems to be the norm and nothing to worry about.

I agree. The kids that have earned that honor (from previous work) should be recognized but it is what it is. I'm sure he has a good reason for not doing it.

We have this conversation at the beginning of every season. He doesn't do it because he doesn't want kids to get the big head and think about stuff they have done in the past, but to focus on getting better every pitch.
And it's worked so well for him.
I was thinking maybe if we tried it for a year, maybe it would change the outcome at the end of a season, of course it could be me and superstition and baseballAnd it's worked so well for him.

Looking at the success of individuals in the past few years, most of whom had "breakout" seasons, I would say that it has. Now has that translated into postseason apperances? No it hasn't, but individual performances rarely do. So individual "pre-season" honors certainly would not.And it's worked so well for him.
