Where will it be?
Zaxby's will be behind Starbucks on the frontage road. We always eat Zaxby's on the way to Gulf Shores. It has been a southeastern chain that is continuing to expand west. I believe the WM location was the first in Louisiana, others coming in Shreveport and Baton Rouge. The food was good. Their selection includes wings, boneless wings, tenders, and sandwiches. The same crinkle cut fries as Cane's, but they add some seasoning salt to theirs. The also have a sauce similar to Cane's, as well as other dipping sauces. The one in Daphne, Al has always been very clean, good service, and quality food. I have seen the same in WM. I will be making plenty of trips there.

That area around Starbucks is a cluster for traffic.

City planners tell elected officials this stuff all the time. They always ignore us.
...and another dies at the intersection of Farmerville Hwy and Douglas Road because a blinking?? yellow light hasn't cut it in 15 years.
After this one, there is one person whom might get a stop light put there. There also have been numerous requests for a stoplight on Tech Dr. and the service road next to Starbucks and the same "not enough traffic" response is given every time. I don't know when the last request was made. I also think the excuse of "wait and see on that side becoming a one way once the tarbutton exchange is completed' is being put out there.

Yep, have a feeling James D. is gonna start leaning heavily on someone's a$$ about the Douglas Rd. light after the one the other night.
It would be necessary to do some clear-cutting and redesigning the topography for a light to be effective. A light alone won't do anything and could lead to more accidents.
The intersection with Starbucks is too complicated for just a light to solve, too.
I think the the effectiveness could be achieved with a reduced speed limit. On the Tech Dr. intersection, how is it more complicated that the lighted intersection across the highway? All I can see is the extra lane coming off the exit ramp, but a similar issue exists with the on ramp on the north side. (I'm asking because I really don't know.)
A red-light there would fix all of the problems.
Would it be a straight-forward 4-way intersection? Not really.
Would it be a little difficult? Probably
But it definitely could work and would cause way less confusion/chaos trying to turn left from the service road.
Speed limits will be regularly ignored just as now.
The changing from single-to-double and double-to-single lanes complicates it the most.
On the north side of the bridge, the light is for the exit ramp and Cooktown north lane isn't connected to the exit ramp lane. On the south south side of the bridge, the light is being placed for the service roads (at least, this is where I see the discussions placing it) and the exit ramp lane is connected to the Cooktown south lane. Small but huge difference.
The bridge needs resurfacing or replacement, too.
Does anyone know what is being built in the Bastille complex?
LaSalle is adding more office space. They have outgrown the current building.
