At least the university stands behind their rules, regardless of what one thinks about this rule or any other rule. How many student/athletes break rules that get swept under the rug, get a slap on the wrist or just plain overlooked.

I haven't read many details on this situation. Do we know that he didn't turn himself in? Maybe the girlfriend did. Rules are rules. People who try to rewrite the rules after the fact are worse than hypocrites.

There are levels to their rules. Caffeine is a minor rule that would have warranted something like a 1 games suspension. I don't agree with them being as strict as they are, but you have to admire the people who have the discipline to follow those rules, graduate, and still maintain their sanity.
And, I agree, it is sad that they follow all these rules for no other reason than because people who follow Joseph Smith's teaching made many of them up. I am pretty sure that Paul and Luke didn't write anything about caffeine under the "do not be drunk on too much wine" part.
So you are telling me there is no other premarital sex on campus. OK
