Can't wait! Rutgers is no push over, but certainly a team we can beat. We are quicker and more athletic - have to use that to our advantage. Their record is not great, but they played a very tough schedule. Still, we can take this one with our home crowd there. I am seeing lots of FB comments on Tech people from Shreveport/Bossier excited about us playing there. Should have some new faces to our regular crowd. I hope they blitz the Shreveport/Bossier market with a huge campaign. You can be that A&M will bring people. Rutgers - not so many........ A&M might cheer for us in the first round.

I agree about the Pep Rally on the Boardwalk. Would love to see the Cheerleaders, RB's, and Hoop Troop march from the Boardwalk across the Texas Bridge to the Square......... Play a little on both sides. Wonder if they would let us shut down the bridge for that? Also, need some activity outside the CT Arena...

Well, we used to call it the Square....... Now, it is Casino Row.. It is under the bridge on the Shreveport side.
All the shreveport/bossier news outlet needs to be pumping up this game.
I think you're talking about the Red River District... which was a major fail by Shreveport... I don't think anybody goes there anymore...
They have been advertising on billboards around town, and I've seen a commercial.
Yeah that area was called shreve square for about 30 years before the casino's came in.
Yeah. That's the "Red River District". Where the Revel is held. There's The Funny Bone and a few restaurants down there now. But there is a big stage area that would be perfect for a pep rally. I like the idea.
The Funny Bone moved to The Boardwalk in Bossier.

One of the memories I carry with me from the 1985 mens regional game in Dallas was parking my car and walking to the arena and hearing the band from a half a mile away. They got the buz going in the crowd before they sat in their sits. Talk about creating electricity. Heck, I felt like I could dunk.
