Good article -
This goes back to my scheduling philosphy -
We have to win to get people in the doors regardless of the percieved quality of the opponents -
We have to seriously look at our ticket package prices - both season and individual
It all comes down to getting BUTTS in the seats the SECOND and THIRD time, not the first time
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
That could bring an interesting idea of 4-5 game package deals for the fan who is not completely ready to commit to season tickets.
Its gonna take some creativity at first then it has to be sustained by WINNING
Ideas:
- group targeting
- buy one get one 1/2 price
- buy one and we loose the next game is 1/2 price
- incentives of game attendance by professors
- aggressive targeting of local highschool students
- and a video board (ran well) can do so much to the atmosphere for the "casual fan"
I've actually (slowly) been working on an e-mail to send to Bruce and Zach about this.
I'm LOVING what the Mudbugs do for their season ticket packages:Flex tickets (16 of the 33 home games, YOU choose) http://www.mudbugshockey.com/tickets/miniplans/I had the idea of "weekend only" packages, but figured that they wouldn't want Ruston people buying them (), so there would be an option of saying that if you live within x miles of the campus then you are not eligible for this package.
Snapdawg, I saw a ride in those photos that you really liked in your younger days.
I highly doubt a makeshift amusement park will make any appreciable difference with the attendance, especially when it gets as cold as it does in Jan and Feb. If we want to draw fans it has to start with a consistent winning product we put on the floor every night.
