Precisely. This is exactly what I've been telling the guys on this board who were proposing giving Spoon a raise to a 200K base salary.

Sorry dudes......but those days are long gone.

I suggested a "stair step" salary structure......one starting at about 300K today, and quickly moving to a 400K base salary in a couple of years. T-Spoon's contract should also have financial incentives on top of this, essentially giving her an "all in" financial package of 500K. No, it's not going to beat LSU's offer......but it will keep most of the vultures at bay for a while, and the money is good enough that it will certainly make it tougher for T-Spoon to leave.
