Even Charlie Brown would not have called for a bunt in the bottom of the ninth down 7 to 5 with two outs and a runner on first and the tying run at the plate. What in the heck was Simeneaux thinking? He denied his team a chance to win. He bunted more today than I have ever seen him use the bunt, but in no case do I remember the bunter getting on first. They advanced the runner, but were thrown out at first which is what is expected. Why did Sim think that it would be different in the ninth inning?
The man seems to believe that his third base coaching skills and strategy is what wins games instead of letting his players do it on the field.
