Series splits at home won't get it done. And even that is no guarantee this weekend.

They advanced the runner, but were thrown out at first which is what is expected. Why did Sim think that it would be different in the ninth inning?

The man seems to believe that his third base coaching skills and strategy is what wins games instead of letting his players do it on the field.
Kind of strange considering in the pregame show he said his team was not a good bunting team.

What was the reason for the WAC going to 4 games series a few years back? Most, if not all other conferences that I am familiar with play 3 game series.

Save travel money. We only go on 2 WAC road trips. The Belt has 5 conference road trips.

I'd still prefer a split rather than going 1-3. Of course.

There was a NMSU fan sitting in front of me in yesterday's second game. We talked a lot of baseball. He was worried about who would be their starting pitcher for today's game. We have Mike Jefferson.

    Advantage - Bulldawgs???

So when we win, it's the players getting it done on the field. But when we lose it's bad coaching strategy? Yep, that makes a lot of sense.

That seems to be the same thing for every game in ever sport. So stupid.

The story I heard yesterday was that their best pitcher (usual Friday night starter Dan Reid) had in his last start attempted to field a hard shot to the mound with his throwing hand and severely injured his thumb. He was not expected to be available during the series.

Today Reid started and, according to the NMSU fans, was not as sharp as normal. He was doing OK until the 5th inning when a hard shot to the mound hit him in the groin/upper leg area. He walked off (after a few minutes) and never returned.

It turned out that the DAWGS did have an advantage with Jefferson. I wasn't sure when the game first started because Jefferson was having early control problems. He settled down and pitched a great game.
