Good question. I have a contact that is in a uniquely insightful position. Consequently, I know that the remarks spouted by TBitR about the BE and the MAC, at least at this time, have NO basis in fact. I suppose in all this craziness something could change in that regard, but if it does and I learn of it I will say something when I can.

There may be truth in what you just said, and it makes sense to me. All of LookingForResults' followers also possess an unrealistic "high and mighty" opinion of the diluted WAC and blind hatred toward the Sun Belt. That is a reoccuring theme that will never die.

Pay very close attention to every single word that LookingforResults has to say. Pay even closer attention to HOW he presents his words. You can learn much about the kind of person you are talking to by their actions and words. I would not want my life in the hands of someone who refused to be humble--so blatantly refused. I would certainly not want my life in the hands of someone who is so vain and proud and who worships their own insight and places it on a pedestal, and in the same breath would tear down all others who would have a different insight. That is wrong. It a good person who can disagree with someone and still respect the person with which they disagree. That doesn't happen with LookingForResults.

I won't go that far because I believe there is a little good in everyone. Some people just don't ever show it or won't. When I say "good" I am talking about the capacity to do and be good. We are living in times where the "good" cannot be distinguished. Pride blinds perception.

These SunBelcher's claim a love for their school and conference yet this one has a BYU avatar. How typical bandwagonish of a Sun Belt fan.

Despite the fact that Louisiana Tech dropped us unexpectedly from the 2011 schedule, Dr. Holmoe is still graciously looking to reschedule a home-and-home with your school at another time. Not many schools would be so kind.

I know 2 LDS members who are Longhorns so faith isn't really relevant here.

2nd for a BYU/Sunbelt fan you sure spend a lot of time here? Why?

I have alot of respect for the Sun Belt Conference. I do not believe it this terrible sports union that your fans have made it out to be and all because Wright Waters wouldn't let Louisiana Tech host Sun Belt championships in basketball after announcing a departure to the WAC. That is the only reason for the hate.

BYU is everywhere--not just Provo. I have LDS friends who are fans of other schools. Most of them are raised in the Church. I have a particular fondness for BYU because of its way of instilling gospel truths. Since I wasn't raised LDS, I would like to be more of that which the Church teaches. You can't do that in your traditional public colleges that teach that God is dead and that we were born from monkeys.

And I frequent the boards of all the WAC schools.

Our fans couldn't care less about Wright Waters not allowing us to host that tournament. Back then yes, now, not at all. It's old and doesn't matter anymore. The reason for the hate is more complicated than that and there are a few explanations.

One reason is blind, junior high-ish, I'm better than you, pride. It is rampant on this board and I would agree with you that it is silly.

Another is that after we left for the WAC, for years on end, we had Sunbelt fans coming on this board and our last board in waves, flaming and telling us what a poor decision it was. And this wasn't right after we moved to the WAC either. It went on for years. They were VERY ignorant. When we would show them in black and white how our revenue was offsetting the travel costs they wouldn't listen and kept insisting that flying our teams to the West coast was killing us all the while they were flying from Denver to Miami and PAYING to have their basketball teams in the SBC tournament while we were making money from ours. For years on end they would come here and flame with no numbers whatsoever to back it up. Obviously when we would respond with facts and numbers in black and white and they were ignored we would follow that up with the harsher responses that those trolls deserved. That helped create the hate you speak of and the Belt posters that came here deserved it.

Another is the fact that the Sunbelt has traditionally been the worst conference in College Football. And it's not like it's terrible football plus ACC basketball either. It's just not a good conference. Frankly there hasn't been much there to like. And when you constantly have people saying why aren't you in the Sunbelt?, you are going to tell them just why that would be a bad move for us and what you think of the Sunbelt. The MAC is right there with it but we don't constantly have MAC fans on this board flaming our school or telling us we need to join the MAC either now do we??

Now if you come back and tell me the Sunbelt is going to be better than the new WAC well I don't know about that. Probably I would have to agree it will be slightly better at first. And I do agree that the new WAC will suck. But then again both conferences will suck. That's why as a Tech fan I don't want us in either conference. It's a bad situation in general. One that wouldn't have been avoided if we would have remained in the Sunbelt because then unfortunately ....we'd still be in the Sunbelt. Swapping one crappy conference for a slightly less or slightly more crappy conference isn't really the goal here.

Those aren't the only reasons but it's a few of the bigger reasons. But either way, I can promise you it has nothing to do with the location of a womens basketball tournament over ten years ago.

I don't believe you for a minute and think you're probably just another sun belch sellout/bandwagon fan. And if morman, then you're still on our board because your perceived morman bashing back a few months ago which makes you a hater. Either way you're a troll and a hater. Go play on your other 2 boards (MTS and BYU). Or did you already get run off from those?

I haven't noticed any Sun Belt fans on your messageboard. I have seen some Louisiana Tech fans on the Sun Belt's NCAAbbs messageboard.

There's no doubt in my mind that the new WAC is worse--much worse. I can absolutely understand Louisiana Tech's aligning with the prestigious programs of the West--Boise State, Fresno, Hawaii--when they were there, but there is nothing even bowl-worthy left in the WAC now except for maybe Louisiana Tech (if the school can find another Tim Rattay).

I don't know. Maybe Louisiana Tech's decision to stay in the WAC is for hopes of representing the league in it's sole bowl game in 2012.

Then you haven't been paying attention. ....At all. And it still doesn't change the fact that the Sunbelt is terrible. And until we have an invite from another conference it still doesn't matter. It's not relevant until then.

It has always amazed me which Belchers come to this board. They are usually from either MTSU, UNT or the UL upick'em, and they hate so incessantly on this board and a bunch of others. Why us?
