Just thought I'd type a preemptive post geared towards you and your annual inquiries on the price of crawfish around the state. We boiled Saturday at my sister's in New Orleans. I don't know where she got them from, but it's where they've always gotten them, so they are regular customers and known by the owners. Anyway, she said the crawfish were $2.50 a lb. That's live crawfish and they weren't very big at all. In fact, most of them were too small and hard to peel because of their size. I'm sure they'll probably go down a little bit, but according to the lady at the market, they won't go down much. She said high crawfish prices are here to stay, so get used to them. (remember when they were .25-.30 a pound for good sized crawfish?) Anyway, just wanted to give that info cuz I know you ask every year.
