    Scouting the Dogs
Fresno State (30-9, 10-5 WAC) enters the weekend as the 19th-ranked team in the Baseball America polls, as announced on Monday. Tech will be seeking their first win over a top 25 program since the Bulldogs knocked off 11th-ranked Baylor on March 4, 2008. After dropping the first two games in their four-game set against Hawai'i last weekend, FS salvaged a series split after dropping the `Bows in the final two games. FS is hitting .283 as a club this season to rank second in the league while their staff ERA ranks ninth in the country checking in at 2.40. Defensively, the Bulldogs rank second in the WAC with a .976 fielding percentage with a league-low 36 errors. Offensively, senior Danny Muno leads the club with a .345 batting average as he has totaled 50 hits and a team-high 37 RBI. Dusty Robinson leads the league with 11 home runs and is hitting .292 on the season with 28 RBI. Austin Wynns and Aaron Judge provide two more quality bats in the lineup with .320-plus averages and a combined 83 hits and 35 RBI. Greg Gonzalez anchors a phenomenal pitching staff with a microscopic 1.22 ERA with 88 strikeouts to just 18 walks on the season. The rest of the weekend rotation features three southpaws that each has 30-plus strikeouts with ERA's below 3.75. Charlie Robertson leads the league with 11 saves to hold down the back of the bullpen, however, he has been charged with five of Fresno's nine losses this season.

We need a split....taking 3 of 4 would be awesome!

Who does Sac State play this weekend, SJSU? NMSU? Our 2-2 combined with them losing their series should ice our spot in the WAC Tourney. Of course, we have a chance to do better than 6th seed. So, Git R Dun!

    Go Dawgs!

New logos around home plate. Coach Sim said that Eric Buskirk has been helping out the baseball team lately, the first time the admin has helped baseball in 9 years.

Looks good! I can't wait for the game tonight. Does anyone know what they are doing out front of the stadium? Irrigation? I drove by and saw trenches dug but couldn't tell what was being done.

Thank Eric, but not the "admin." That "helping" is from private sources.

Emily Villere from KNOE was there too. What a beautiful young woman! Right JFord?

The Fresno pitcher was amazing...we still look at too many third strike pitches.

Our small ball tactic will work if we have the personnel and coaching to execute. Not getting a bunt on the ground at a crucial time is a killer.

You might say, well, w/o the 4 unearned runs we still lose 5-4. Maybe. Trailing by 5 runs vs. by 1 run changes offensive tactics.

It would be nice if KNOE uploaded their coverage like all the other news channels. Aaron Dietrich was too busy beating a dead horse. This is what KNOE uploaded last night: LINK

Where was Ethan Conley? TNS just ran our SID release. The Times didn't even acknowledge there was a game.

Entering the game we had won 6 of our last 7, and we were playing the 19th ranked team in the nation, the national champions from 3 years ago. You think the newspapers would cover the story.

Six of last night's starters are from between Shreveport and Monroe: Ewing (Shreveport), Hedges (Shreveport), Ford (Bossier City), Johnson (Ruston), Gebhardt (Monroe), and Threlkeld (Monroe). In addition, Hughes (Monroe), Burch (Monroe), White (West Monroe), Gordey (Bossier City), and Carlisle (Shreveport) saw some playing time last night. Also, Petersen (Hallsville) is from the Shreveport coverage area.
