They'd be funny, except these seem to be the prevailing opinions in the modern GOP. It reminds me of this comic: http://xkcd.com/154/

I didn't expect you to understand the point. You feel free, perhaps even obligated, to belittle, ridicule and demonstrate absolute intolerence for anyone that expresses faith in God. Your intolerence is the epitome of the hypocrisy you profess to hate. As with all non-believers, your disdain for believers is your religion, although you never recognize, or never admit it as such. Your arrogance derives from your delight in being "freed" from the "shackles" of myths and legends when in reality all you've done is found a way for you to justify in your mind the hypocrisy and hate that you regularly practice.

Just remember that your "unalienable right" to worship a pencil-necked narcissist came from those that believed that right came from your creator.

So, no matter how many times he says "uh" or "um" or says stupid things that have no basis in fact, you have the right to continue to worship him, because your creator gave you that right, and America was founded on that ideal.

    America....*&^% Yeah!

Nobody worships Obama, your posts only reflects the teapublican frustration that the party has no one that represents it and everyone who actually does you're ashamed of. Because of that you point to the dems and Obama. Foolish as usual.

Where are you getting the idea that I worship Obama? He has his own deficiencies, but that's not what this thread is about. By the way, no "creator" has given anyone the right to free worship. According to your religion, I'm going to burn in hell for all eternity since I don't believe in your god. Some right that is. Also, if America were founded on christian "ideals," you'd think that would be apparent in the Constitution somewhere. Since it isn't, I'd rather think that it was founded on humanist ideals, by very intelligent, enlightened individuals who happened to be mildly religious.

One more thing, since when does the far right (modern gop) care about anything based in fact?

The POTUS should be smart. Bachmann is not.

I'm not asserting Bachmann's suitability, or lack thereof, to be president. But regarding whether the POTUS should be smart, as in almost all things it's how you define smart. I think Reagan was one of our greatest presidents ever, but I'm not sure how "academically" smart he was, or what his "IQ" was.

But I know this, he had a keen understanding of human nature, a clear vision of what was in the best interest of mankind, and a perfect understanding of, and appreciation for, the absolute uniqueness of the United States in human history. He knew how to accept and deflect criticism, how to be charming while resolute, and how to genuinely forgive. That kind of "smart" can't be measured, but precious few possess it.

We all want a president with those qualities. The problem is we have become so polarized that we cannot see past our ideologies and recognize that person when we seen him (or her).

And perhaps a big part of that polarization has come from the current occupant doing nothing but blaming his predecessor for all of his shortcomings.

Maybe that came from shutting the republicans out of the entire healthcare debate, and pushing such an important piece of legislation through on a party line vote.

You have to see that the current president is the most polarizing president in the history of the US, right? Just looka the fanatical ones on here with statements like "teapublicans" and "teabaggers". That's certainly not good groundwork for getting things done.

As far as your other post is concerned, I do not harbor any beliefs that you will burn in hell for any of your beliefs, though I realize that others might - and many of those will also believe that I will do the same. But the framers of the Declaration of Independence believed that our creator gave us the right to believe whatever we wanted to believe, and I don't feel I have the right to chastize those that believe different things than I do. So if you feel like you have to make fun of Michelle Bachmann's (or, as you say, the entire modern GOP) religious beliefs, aren't you doing to her/them exactly what you feel she is doing to you?

Since when is stating facts blaming? Obama was merely pointing out to the American public that he inherited an economy that was on the verge of collapase. That's NOT blaming that is TRUTH. Of course teapublicans have amnesia of anything that happened before Jan of 2008.....I wonder why?

Shutting out republicans? It is not very hard to shut people out that don't want to come in in the first place. There were 8 years of Republican presidency and healthcare didn't come up once but since Obama takes over all of a sudden all of the republicans are experts on what won't work while offering ZERO solutions. The republcans held hands and refused to vote for anything that would remotely help this country because our new black president might get too much credit. Remember Jim Demint and his "WE CAN BREAK THIS PRESIDENT". Message to Demint, you break Horses not people.

Most polarizing President? Again,,,,it's the amnesia. Remember the "Uniter" Bush, I don't think Obama inherited a "United" country. Republicans sought the help of Frank Luntz in finding words to discredit the president from the get go. Calling the president a socialist, muslim, saying he was born in Kenya is really going to unite the country.

Dude you need to quit drinking the koolaid....it is causing irrepairable harm.

    Please remember this question.

The deficit/debt has grown more under obama, than any other prez in history. I'm not blaming anyone....just stating a fact.

Obammer was part of the problem then...now he's demonstrated he is the problem. You and he still think socialism works. He was raised by socialists .... what's your excuse?

Great I've got yall stating facts......a first for people like you! Now, let's practice on stating ALL of the facts. Did you know that President Bush did NOT count the Iraq war in his budgets while Obama did? The deficit and debt was getting bigger under Bush at a faster rate but it just wasn't reported. All of the unpaid for tax cuts and the prescription drug bill didn't help either.
