Good try and good info, but I've seen stories of a girl who went from her hospital room to the cafeteria down stairs and saw her grandmother smoking a cigarette. She said she couldn't believe she was smoking because she had quit a long time ago. I think you guys are missing the point. It is FACTS that sink religion, not philosophy.

The guy is about one event away from discovering some new information about life....and death.... he's trying to sort all this stuff out just like me. He's had a difficult life....I wouldn't trade places with him.
But the fact is that with creationism vs big bang theory is that there are no provable facts one way or the other. Basically you have a belief system that says a supreme being created the universe as we know it and you have a belief system that says it was a series of random occurrences. Science has methods of attempting to prove their theory and religion not so much.
Are you kidding? What facts does Hawking have about afterlife? He has also stated that a creator is possible... but not with facts. He is very philosophical, for a scientist.
There is Johnny's pepperoni pizza and there are CokeCola icees therefore there is a God....
