It's time to close the doors to the Temple of Janus.
In a worldly sense Jesus was poor. He had no place to call home/lay his head at night nor money to pay his taxes (acquired a coin from a fish's mouth). All he owned was his two garments (and a sash/rope belt I suppose) and a pair of sandles which the soldiers drew lots for at his crucifiction. That said, the Lord provided him with all he needed obviously.
Matthew 8:20 NIV
No place to sleep
Jesus replied, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."

Matthew 17:27 NIV
No money for Taxes
"But so that we may not offend them, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours."

Jesus Garments
John 19:23
23 When the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom. 24 "Let's not tear it," they said to one another. "Let's decide by lot who will get it." This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled which said, "They divided my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing." So this is what the soldiers did.
Parents wealth
I always assumed Mary and Joseph used these gifts up when they traveled to Egypt to escape King Herod but maybe not.
Matthew 2:11 NIV
On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.

This is very misleading. The US won't be paying his severance, the IMF will. The US isn't the only bankroller, just the largest.
There is absolutely no reason he shouldn't get his contractually guranteed severance, and there is nothing American lawmakers can do about it.
He was born rich:
"And when they were come into the house they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshiped him; and when they had opened their treasures, the presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh." Mathhew 2:11
During his public ministry, three years of travel, he was provided for in abundance:
"Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, and Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's stweard, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance."
You did reference a point in his ministry where he was on the road. He did however have permanent dwellings as well:
"Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the are of Zebulun and Naphtali." Matthew 4:13
Jesus was in the habit of giving to the poor, so he must have had money:
"Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that we should give something to the poor." John 13:29
Look how much he had to give:
"Why wasn't this perfume sold and given to the poor? It was worth a year's wages." John 12
Besides, Jesus specifically said he was not poor:
"You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me. John 12:8
Yes, there were times that Jesus was on the road and had no place to lay his head. I was on the road last week and slept twice at a rest stop. I had no place to lay my head. I was not poor. I was just on the road.
As for your references to Jesus becoming poor, I think you will find that he is referring to the Cross. I do not think there is any evidence he was poor during his ministry.
It's time to close the doors to the Temple of Janus.
I quoted the parent's wealth in my post I guess while you were typing yours . I did say "in a worldly sense" but I still believe he personally was poor, again in a worldly text. He relied solely on God's own providing and through and by others. And though a bottle of perfume was a year’s wages this probably was to help provide for all of the disciples as well. Maybe Peter and the others provided portions of their “fishing savings” or Matthew his illegal ex-tax collecting…who knows. Of course Jesus nor we would ever consider him truly poor, as the entire world and His seat at “the right hand of God” was his to begin with.
Please!!!! That is almost Obamalike. I put thye IMF right up there with the UN and tits on a bull.
CHART: Who Funds The IMF?
The correct answer is... you.
This chart explains in simple terms why you often hear that U.S. taxpayers are bailing out foreign nations - because we provide approximately 17% of IMF funds.
Meanwhile, the IMF makes no secret of their desire to abandon the dollar and create their own world reserve currency. See this story...

That doesn't disprove my statements. The IMF will pay his severance, not the US.
And I only say it may not be paid is USD because he is French, and lives primarily in France. It's reasonable to assert he will likely be paid in Euros, and very well could have been otherwise. Doesn't matter what the IMF has their currency set as the USD, it can be and often is converted as needed.
I suppose we wont pay for any of this either??

Does the government pay your house note?
No it's not. He didn't work for (any) government agency, nor do you. As the government doesn't pay for your housing, nor is it paying for his.
