The team got all it could, and did well, with what it had to work. But BWD is right. From a purely "results" perspective, it was what only can be labeled an average year. We are a run-of-the-mill program that is undistinguished in any way. That's not to say that's our destiny, but until we decide, as in every endeavor, to dedicate more money and other resources to the task, it's who we are.

Alvis led the Bulldogs over Tech’s four WAC Tournament games with a .500 average, with five of his eight hits going for extra bases. Alvis hit two home runs, scored five times, drove in four runs and had a 1.063 slugging percentage.
Gebhardt ended the year on a 17-game hitting streak and was second on the team with a .438 average in tournament play. He scored four times, drove in three runs recorded seven hits in 16 at bats, notched eight total bases and was walked twice while stealing one base.
Outstanding efforts and well-deserved recognition for both.
And Gebhardt is a freshman!
