Sorry, fat thumbs. Edwards on Top 50 college guys who didn't make it in the Pros. Number 47.
Such a waste of god-given talent.
It always puzzled me how he caught 60+ passes in his rookie year and then barely saw the field afterward.
His big mouth probably had something to do with it.
He was not the sharpest crayon in the box, either. I recall I think the Saturday after the Nebraska game, he was interviewed on ESPN, and he talked about playing for the "University of Louisiana Tech".....geesh!!
Troy is the best football player I've ever seen play at Tech.
Back then I knew we could play with anybody.
troy didnt run the best routes but was fast and had good hands. Tim made him look good sometimes on bad routes etc and I am sure visa versa on a few bad throws. I talked to a buddy who worked in pittsburg at the time and he said his mouth and work ethic killed him up there. Wasn't putting in the time with the playbook etc .....
dont know how much of that was true.
In terms of raw, God-given ability, TE is one of the best players to ever wear a Tech uniform. He was so fast, so athletic, so talented...

Which is why many of us were not impressed with Dykes' so-called "high octane" offense. We've seen true high performance offensive engines.
