    by Jeffrey M. Jones

PRINCETON, NJ -- Registered voters by a significant margin now say they are more likely to vote for the "Republican Party's candidate for president" than for President Barack Obama in the 2012 election, 47% to 39%. LoL. An unnamed republican candidate does not exist. Wait until the Repubs nominate somebody and goes head to head with Prince Obama, who, by the way, is a great campaigner.

Reminds me of your very, very confident predictions that Harry Reid would be easily defeated. As Palin would say, how did that turn out? Didn't happen, buddy, because when the election finally took place people held their nose and VOTED for a person that they didn't care for but who was far better than the Republican candidate.

Obama was a great campaigner because he didn't have a record and just blew smoke up everyone's @$$. Hope has turned into despair and Change was same ol' same ol'. We will see if he can defend his results. I think his only chance is to continue to blame Bush and hope the people buy it.

Bottom line is that regardless of who was elected POTUS, the economy would have remain in pitiful condition. While Obama made some mistakes, who is to say that McCain would not have made even bigger mistakes, especially considering the pressure he would have under by the tea partiers.

His voting base will buy it because the majority have an IQ between of 40 - 80.

McCain wouldn't have listened to the Tea Party... and he probably would have made similar mistakes as Obama, because he believes in big government too. He would not have screwed up the health care system though and he wouldn't have done the stimulus. I don't think a tax cut would have gotten us out of this mess, but it wouldn't have hurt anything. I don't know what his thoughts are on entitlements... he probably wouldn't have had the backbone to do anything about it.

You're giving them too much credit. We have clear examples of his voting base in salty and genpoop, and both of them make Forest Gump look like a genius. I'd say the range is closer to 30-50.

The House republicons are really, really dumb if they think the independent voters are not paying attention to their pandering to their campaign contributors during this debt ceiling fiasco.
