Dark and Bloody Ground: The Battle of Mansfield and the Forgotten Civil War in Louisiana Real interesting story of a forgotten region in the War. A couple of breaks for the South in the state might have helped change the final outcome. The book is really about General Dick Taylor and the early part of the book takes place in the Eastern Theater. But it is a very good account of the war in the Bayou State. I did not know much about Taylor before I read this, but he was a brillant general and truly "did more with less" throughout the War.
